In The Pursuit of
Happiness...
I'm delighted to welcome you to the Happiness website.
The three most important questions one can ask himself (or herself) are: "Am I
truly happy with my life?”, "If not, then Why?” and; "What can I do about it?”
At a very young age I set out on my life's journey in the "pursuit of happiness".
I decided to be my own man, educate my own mind and live my own life. My two
life mottos were, "taste everything except the poison," and "learn as much as
possible from everyone, whether they were gurus or beggars."
In addition to
my engineering research on Neuro-cybernetics (study of the mind) and MBA degrees
(study of money), I spent about two decades of my adult life
researching the works of leading authorities on
psychology, sociology, epistemology, philosophy, theology, anthropology and
ethics (study of life). I traveled tens of thousands of miles to more than 100 cities in about
20 countries. I wandered the deserts, explored the forests and climbed the
Himalayas, prayed in ashrams, churches, mosques and temples. I loved and was
loved, hurt others and got hurt. I succeeded, failed and lived more than most.
Truth be told, none of these experiences
made me really happy. The "happiness" that I got from these experiences
was short-lived. Happiness was always fleeting. The irony is that
in the pursuit of happiness, I have done everything else except to be happy. In the
pursuit of happiness, I had to deal with much unhappiness and very little
happiness.
Fortunately though, during my journey, I made sure that I took notes from every
success, failure, pain or joy that I came across, be it mine or someone else's.
In doing so, I discovered a common thinking pattern in the happiest people I met
regardless of their country, religion, age, gender, economic class or environment
and whether they lived in peace or war, in poverty or prosperity, with their
families or alone. Through these very diverse lifestyles, I discovered a
common set of personal characteristics that contributed the most to their
happiness and the happiness of the people around them. After years of research
and first hand experience, I found that happiness comes from
understanding and practicing a limited set of lifestyle choices. Everything else
I read or did in the pursuit of happiness was at best fluff.
You might be wondering, how is this workshop different?
This is not a typical motivational seminar with a collection of tips from
various self-help books. This a research-based transformational workshop. The
workshop provides insights, systems and tools to transform your mind and change your life.
Beyond sharing the learned wisdom, lessons, and tools, probably the most valuable
service, I can provide you, is to save you the time, efforts and mistakes needed
to find true happiness and keep it for life.
I wish you happiness
